Spencer, Lillian P.
Lillian P. Spencer, age 95 of Galesburg, Illinois formerly of Williamsfield died on March 29, 2012 at 8:08 p.m. at Heartland Manor Care in Galesburg.

She was born on December 19, 1916 in Franklin County, Tennessee, the daughter of Felix and Annie Woolsey Branch. She married Roland H. Spencer on June 20, 1942 in Rossville, Georgia. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2008.

She is survived by one son, Milton (Brenda) Spencer of Galesburg; three daughters, Nina (Kenneth) Dean of Canton, Ruby (Ron) Naslund of Alpha, and Sheila (Roger) Johnson of Galesburg; five grandchildren, Todd (Brandy) Greenman of Alpha, Paul (Traci) Greenman of Alpha, Jeff (Melissa) Dean of Canton, Heather (Brian) Woods of Canton, and Andrew Spencer of Galesburg; ten great grandchildren and one sister, Ruby Bratten of Tullahoma, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; two sisters; two brothers and one son: Roland Spencer, Jr.

She was reared and educated in Franklin County, Tennessee. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband near Williamsfield, for 40 years before moving to Galesburg, in 1984. She was a member of the Williamsfield United Methodist Church and a member of its church circle for many years. After moving to Galesburg, she and her husband attended the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Galesburg, for as long as they are able. She was a member of the Williamsfield American Legion Auxiliary Post #371.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church in Williamsfield. Rev. Jennifer L. Seder officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes in Knoxville, Illinois. Burial will be in the Williamsfield Cemetery, Williamsfield, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Williamsfield United Methodist Church or Hospice Compassus, Galesburg.
