|Billy D. Vice, Sr., age 58 of rural Gilson, Illinois passed away at his home Monday, April 8, 2013 at 5:50 AM.
Billy was born on June 27, 1954 in Kirksville, Missouri the son of Delbert "Gano" and Lillie "Fern" (Rusk) Vice. He graduated from Brashear High School in Brashear, Missouri in 1972. He retired in 2000 as a Carman from the Burlington Northern Santé Fe Railroad. He married Darlene Handley on February 28, 1984 in Kirksville, Missouri. Billy was proud about celebrating 29 years of marriage with Darlene.
He is survived by his wife Darlene Vice of Gilson, Illinois, children: Pattie Zesch of La Plata, Missouri, Billy Vice Jr. of Kirksville, Missouri, Jason Vice of Atlanta, Missouri and Doug Zesch of Galesburg, Illinois. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, one sister, Eva States of Joplin, Missouri, one brother, Monta Vice of Labelle, Missouri and he will be greatly missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter JoAnn Vice, two sisters, Neva Haley and Bonnie Kirkpatrick and his parents, Delbert and Lillie Vice.
Billy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and he was passionate about his Remote Controlled Airplanes, Trucks, and Boats.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Meeker and OSF Hospice for their fantastic patience and care over the last few months.
Per his request, cremation rites will be accorded. Inurnment will take place at the Pratt Cemetery in Kirksville, Missouri at a later date. Memorial donations may be left to the family.
