Yeager, John C.
John C. Yeager, 82, of Galesburg, Ill. died at 6:27 PM Saturday, April 20, 2013 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

He was born on June 21, 1930 in Galesburg to Clarence J. and Francis M. Busse Yeager. He married Rosemary Ann Edwardson on December 21, 1950 in Galesburg. She preceded him in death on January 10, 1997. He then married Charlene Steck. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, John (and Peggy) Yeager and Mark (and Trish) Yeager, both of Galesburg; a daughter, Susan (and Denise Metheney) Yeager of Chariton, Iowa; a brother, Dale (and Sharon) Yeager of Galesburg; two sisters, Lois (and Leo) Dawson of Kalispell, Mont. and Donna Grady of Campbell, Calif.; three grandchildren, Zachary T. (and Kylee) Yeager of Alexis, Ill., Ian J. Yeager of Galesburg and Justin Metheney-Yeager of Chariton, Iowa; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, James Tyson Yeager, and two sisters, Mary Mahoney and Corrine Yeager.

John owned and operated Yeager and Sons Heating and Sheet Metal for many years retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he had served as Monmouth Branch President. He was active in Boy Scouts serving as a leader.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1977 E Fremont St, Galesburg with Brother Roby Souther officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Galesburg Rescue Mission and Womens Shelter. Online condolences may be left at www.h-p-w.com.
