Martin, Sharon Elaine
Sharon Elaine Martin, 60, of Galesburg died at 5:10 am Monday, April 22, 2013 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

She was born July 20, 1952 in San Francisco, Calif. the daughter of Thomas Edward and Barbara Ivanilla Peninger Currie. She first married Donald E. Bendele, JR. in San Mateo, Calif. then married Roger Paul, she later married Wayne Schultz and Allen Martin, SR.
She is survived by her children, Shawn D. Paul of Bismarck, ND, Wayne Eugene Schultz of Danville, Ill., Adam M. Schultz of Galesburg, Kim (Leon) M. Schaefer of Decatur, Ill., Stacie L. Bendele of Charlestown, Ind., Robert D. Crandall, JR of Galesburg, Allen D. (Billie Jo) Martin, JR of Abingdon, Ill., Valerie (Joe) German of Abingdon, Ill., and Paula L. Martin of Charlestown, Ind.; two brothers, Donald (Theresa) Currie of Fairview and Gary (Dee) Currie of Copeville, Texas; her sister, Heidi (Larry) Aichele of Bismarck, ND; nineteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, her dog, Chumley and nine nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Douglas and two grandsons.

Sharon was working as a caregiver for DOORS for the past four years. She had worked for the Monmouth Pottery and Casa Sierra. She attended school in San Mateo, Calif. and graduated from Carl Sandburg College with an associates degree in psychology. She was a member of the VFW #2257, AA and NA. She attended Second Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping, mushrooming, gardening, cooking, baking, yard sales and thrift stores.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am Saturday at Second Baptist Church. Rev. Johnnie Trammel will officiate. Visitation will be from 10-11 am Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Guardian Angel Humane Society. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
