Blanche K. Collins, 97, of Monmouth died at 9:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Marigold Health Care Center, Galesburg.
She was born May 19, 1913 in Olena, Henderson County, Illinois the daughter of Roscoe and Margaret (Allen) Detrick. She was raised and educated in Warren County attending Youngstown School.
Blanche married William F. Collins in Macomb, IL on November 11, 1933 and he passed away January 28, 2001.
She was a Homemaker. She also worked at Formfit in Monmouth for 6 years and Barnes Super Value in Monmouth for 15 years. She enjoyed sewing, reading and photography.
She was a member of the Roseville United Methodist Church.
Surviving is her daughter, Barbara Stewart of Monmouth; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Ellen K. McVey; 2 son-in-laws; 3 sisters and 8 brothers.
Graveside services will be 11:30 A.M., Sat. May 14, 2011 at the LaHarpe Cemetery, LaHarpe, IL. Friends may call Saturday morning at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where her family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 A.M. Memorials may be given to the Shriner's Crippled Children's Hospital.
