Virginia A. Crouch, 81, of Galesburg died at 8:25 p.m. Monday May 2, 2011 in Rosewood Care Center.
She was born May 12, 1929 in Middle Grove, Ill. the daughter of Byron White and Pansy Moorse Keener. She married Albert P. Crouch, Sr. in Hanna City, Ill. on June 25, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2005.
She is survived by two sons, Byron Henry (Kathy) Way and Albert P. (Linda) Crouch, Jr., both of Galesburg; three daughters, Quitzan Priscilla (Gordan) Hutchings of Galesburg, Catherine "Penny" (Randy) Flynn of East Galesburg and Teri Lynne (Johnny E. Johnson) Mink of Galesburg; a brother, Bud (Connie) Keener of Galesburg, a sister, Pearl Starnes of Galesburg, nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, two sisters and one grandson.
Virginia worked as an LPN for the former St. Mary Hospital. She also was the head of housekeeping for the former Custer Hotel. She was a member and past president of the former Fraternal Order of the Ladies Auxiliary Drill Team, member of the Elkettes, and the Moose Lodge #880. She was a member of the Salvation Army. She also was involved in the Women’s Relief Corps. She enjoyed her family, her grandchildren and camping.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Rev. Bob Malone will officiate. Visitation will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
