Trulock, Susan J.
Susan J. Trulock, age 61 of Galesburg, formerly of Abingdon, died at 9:08 am Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago.

She was born on March 16, 1951 in Galesburg, the daughter of Robert and Audrey (Hobbs) Nuckles. She married Richard E. "Doc" Trulock on July 12, 1970. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Kyle Welsh.

Susan is survived by one son, Jeremy Trulock; two sisters, Linda (and Dave) Ryan of Abingdon and Lynne (and Gene) Skinner of Knoxville; three nieces, Gina Skinner, Melissa Trulock and Rachel (and Ryan) Potts; and eight nephews, Jason Hahn, Matt Skinner, Barry Welsh, Gary Trulock, Jimmy Trulock, Steve (and Chris) Ryan, Brett Ryan and Dustin (and Janice Daley) Welsh.

Susan grew up in Abingdon and graduated from Abingdon High School in 1970.
She currently was employed as a bus monitor for First Student Bus Company in Galesburg. She had also worked in the laundry department at Seminary Manor in Galesburg. She had lived in Galesburg the past six years and prior to that had lived most of her life in Abingdon. She was a member of the Abingdon Christian Church. She was a past member of the Abingdon Booster Club and ABATE, and she and her husband were very active with the former Abingdon Jaycees. Her hobbies included playing bingo and going to the boat.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel. Rev. Darryl McDaniel will officiate. Burial will follow in the Abingdon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at the chapel.
