Peggy Jean Anderson, 69, of Galesburg died at 11:55 am Sunday, April 29, 2012 at her home.
She was born December 24, 1942 in Long Beach, Calif. the daughter of Leo G. and Elsie Bernice Allison Nelson. She married William R. Anderson.
She is survived by her mother, Elsie B. Gibson of Galesburg; her son, Douglas R. (Jan) Anderson of Knoxville, Ill.; two daughters, Cynthia D. Harwood of Galesburg and Michelle L. (Jim) Power of Temecula, Calif.; a brother, Michael V. Nelson of Galesburg; ten grandchildren, Seann, Mackenzie, Shayne, Nathan, Cory, Kacey, Brianna, Chad, Evan and Dylan; and four great grandchildren, Leilani, Addison, Max and Kaylon. She is preceded in death her father and a brother, Russ W. Nelson.
Peggy worked as the Program Director and Counselor for DAC (Drug and Alcohol Program at Oak Grove Institue) in Murrieta, Calif. for 16 years. She retired on October 13, 2008. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1960 and was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Ill.
A Celebration of Peggy's Life will be 10 AM Friday, May 4, 2012 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel . Pastor Michel Clark will officate. Family will receive friends following the service at Grace Lutheran Church. There will be no visitation, cremation will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Institute.
