|Vincent D. Fredrickson, age 85, of Oak Run, Dahinda, Illinois formerly of Victoria, Illinois passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 1:40 P.M. at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois after a two-year courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on February 24, 1927 in Oneida, Illinois the son of Albert and Agnes (Isaacson) Fredrickson. He married to Marilee Ehlen on December 31, 1948. She preceded him in death. He married Marge Haack on December 2, 1984. She survives of Oak Run, Dahinda, Illinois.
He is survived by a son, Dennis (Linda) Fredrickson of Victoria, Illinois; a daughter Sharon (James) Link of Victoria, Illinois; Granddaughter, Angela (Rodney) King of Victoria, Illinois; Grandsons, Michael Fredrickson of Ottawa; Aaron (Katie) Link of Rio; Ryan (Kelli) Link of Franklin, IN; Nathan (Mary) Link of East Galesburg, and four great grandchildren: Emily King; Addysen and Ainsley Link; and Anna Link and one on the way.
Also surviving is one stepson, Gregg Haack of Chatham, Illinois; two stepdaughters, Tracy (Michael) Clark of Carmel, California and Sandra Salyers of Pinckey, Michigan. One sister, Dorene (Carl) Erickson of Altona, Illinois. Nephews and a niece.
He graduated from Oneida High School. He farmed all of his life in Oneida and Victoria area.
He was a Knox County Board Member for 10 years, from 1982 to 1992 serving as chairman of the Jail and Sheriff's Committee for 8 years. He served as Director on the Illinois Valley Electric Co-op for 15 years from 1980 to 1995; the Architectural & Environmental Committee at Oak Run; He was a member of the Knox County Farm Bureau for 50 years and served on its board for 10 years; He was founding member and director of the Knox County Livestock Feeders Association. He was a former member of Faith Lutheran Church, Wataga, Illinois and served on the church board. Member of Grace Lutheran Church of Knoxville, Illinois;
He vacationed for 20 winters in Tucson, Arizona. He loved traveling, playing cards and going for coffee with his many friends. He loved being with his family and grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Michel D. Clark Officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes in Oneida, Illinois. Burial will be in the Wataga Cemetery, Wataga, Illinois.
