|Pauline A. Johnson, of rural Gilson, Illinois died on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 8:20 A.M. at her residence in rural Gilson, Illinois.
She was born on May 27, 1922 in Ellisville, Illinois the daughter of Hayes R. and Mary Traynor Dalton. She was raised and educated in Knoxville, Illinois, graduating from the Knoxville High School. She married Deane F. Johnson on October 16, 1943 in Knoxville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1996.
Surviving is a daughter, Paula Sue (Charlie) Gray of Phoenix, Arizona. Three sons, Richard D. (Barbara) Johnson of Gilson, Illinois; Philip L. (Sharon) Johnson of Knoxville, Illinois and Jeffrey L. Johnson of Gilson, Illinois. Nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. One sister, Rachel Derham of Knoxville, Illinois. Many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by six sisters, four brothers, and one grandson.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Knoxville, Illinois and church circle; Knoxville Women's Club; G.T. Club. She was a homemaker and assisted her husband on the farm.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. William Werner officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services on Thursday at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes in Knoxville, Illinois. Fellowship will be held at the Hurd-Hendricks Fellowship Center following the Funeral Services. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville or to Hospice Compassus.
