Miller, Earl C.
Earl C. Miller, 92, of Galesburg, died at 6:04 a.m. Monday, May 27, 2013 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.

He was born January 28, 1921 in Monmouth, Ill. the son of Clyde F. and Lillian (Christensen) Miller. He married Polly Bonesteel on June 16, 1943 in Galesburg. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2002.

He is survived by a son, Gregory E. Miller of Bradenton, Fla.; a daughter, Holly (Ivan) LaPorte of Galesburg; a son-in-law, Roger Muselman of Kewanee, Ill; six grandchildren, Joe Miller of Galesburg, Ill., Pete Miller of Houston, Texas, Kelley Muselman of Fort Myers, Fla., Whitney (Pete) Petros of Columbia, Mo., Brooklyn (Zach) Delacruz and Cheyenne Taylor, both of Galesburg; six great grandchildren, Dylan Miller, Gregory Miller, Cierra Miller, Christian and Arayah Delacruz, Noa Russell; and his partner, Lois Bruget of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Polly; a daughter, Shelley Miller Muselman; a sister, Donna Miller; three brothers; and two great grandchildren, Corey and Elizabeth Miller.

Earl worked at Gale Products Division of Outboard Marine Corporation for 40 years, retiring in 1982.

He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1940. Earl was a member of First Christian Church. He lived at Lake Bracken for many years. He was active in basketball, football and track throughout his high school years. He was one of the original coaches for the boys when Little League was started in Galesburg. He later played on the softball league for 14 years. He was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. His hobbies included stamp collecting, watching sports and spending time with his beloved dog, Gabby. He loved to play golf and had four holes in one.

Cremation will be accorded. Private Family graveside service will be Saturday in Linwood Cemetery. Rev. Greg Fitch will officiate. There will be no visitation. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
