|Raymond Ray Hutchins of Roseville, IL, passed away Sunday June 6, 2010 at 4:25 pm at the Roseville Rehab and Health Center in Roseville, IL. He was born September 16 1921 at home in New Philadelphia, in McDonough County near Bushnell, IL the son of George and Lena Moore Hutchins. He married Avis Amner Lawhorn on June13, 1948.
He is survived by his wife Avis Hutchins of Roseville, IL; two sons William (Saundra) Hutchins of Decatur, IL and John (Joyce) Hutchins of Avon, IL; one daughter Kathryn Hutchins of Springfield, IL; 4 grandchildren Stephen Hutchins of Decatur, IL, Laura (Matt) Hutchins-Nickall of El Paso, TX, Jon K. Hutchins of St. Augustine, IL and Erin E Hutchins of Bettendorf, IA; 1 great grandson Brayden R. Hutchins of Decatur, IL; one brother Max (Millie) Hutchins, and one sister Pat Cline. He was preceded in death by parent's brother (Harry Hutchins), sister (Vera Utecher), son (David Hutchins), granddaughter (Janet Lyn Hutchins), and brother in law (Harold Cline).
Raymond was a WWII Navy Veteran who was stationed in Pearl Harbor as a metal smith, a lifelong farmer, and an enthusiastic supporter of the Warren County Historical Society and Museum.
Funeral service will be Friday June 11, 2010, 10:00 am at the Roseville Baptist Church, Revs. Cheryl Fear and Jay Cowell will officiate. Burial will be in the Warren County Memorial Cemetery with Military rites at the grave by Lawson-Babbitt American Legion Post #614. Family will receive friends on Thursday June 10, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Corman Memorial Home Roseville, IL. Memorial may be made to the Warren County Historical Society Museum and or to the First Baptist Church of Roseville. He will be missed by his family and friends but he is far better off.
