|L. Jane Swing, 69, 383 E. Ferris St., Galesburg, died at 5:50 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2010 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born January 4, 1941 in Iberia, Mo., the daughter of Walter and Alice Prater Moss. She married George R. Swing on October 26, 1958 in Iberia. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Ron (and Toni) Swing and Don (and Lana) Swing, both of Galesburg and Dan (and Beth) Swing of Knoxville, Ill., two daughters, Becky (and Larry) Hayes of Danville, Ill. and MaRena (and Les) Allen of Galesburg, 15 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and two brothers, John (and Deloris) Moss of Jefferson City, Mo. and James (and Karen) Moss of Iberia. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Jane was part owner and operator of Swing Mobile Estates, Swing Realty, and Swing Rentals for 40 years. She graduated from Iberia High School. Jane was a past member of the Galesburg Aviation Club and Galesburg Realtors Association. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Jane was an active Christian woman whose life was centered around the church. She loved boating, water skiing, camping, cooking, sewing, and especially loved taking care of her family.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the First Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Ron Scarlett will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
