|William J. "Bill" Wyman, 76, of Williamsfield, Ill., died at 5:28 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born March 15, 1934 in Galesburg, the son of Merle and Harriett Webb Wyman. He married Saundra L. Timmons on December 3, 1955 in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife, Saundra, two daughters, Billie JoAnn (and Ted) Litchfield of Cabot, Ark. and Brenda Sue (and Gayle) Cyrulik of Bloomington, Ill., six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a brother, Robert (and Marlene) Wyman of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and a sister, Donna (and Richard) Smith of Galesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters.
Bill was an electrician at Gates Rubber Company for 30 years, retiring in 1995. He attended Galesburg High School. He was a member of the Yates City Masonic Lodge and the American Legion. Bill enjoyed gardening, woodworking, model airplanes, naval aviation, and spending time with his family.
He served in the United States Navy in aviation for three years during the Korean War.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 14, 2010 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel. Burial will be in Westfall Cemetery, near Victoria, Ill., where military honors will be provided. Memorials may be made to the B.Y.E. Ambulance Service or Yates City Masonic Lodge.
