Christensen, Donald M.
Donald M. Christensen, age 79, of Galesburg, Illinois and Oak Run, Dahinda, Illinois died on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at 2:32 P.M. at St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

He was born on November 30, 1930 in Maple Park, Illinois, the son of Albert and Antonia Neilsen Christensen.

He married Carole Joyce Asbiornsen on October 14, 1961 in Skokie, Illinois.

She survives of Galesburg, Illinois.

Also surviving are:

Daughter: Joyce Ellen (Robert) Wetekamp of Newburg, Indiana
Five Grandchildren: Nathan, Alex, Tyler, Ellie and Chase Wetekamp
Sisters: Thelma Montgomery of Dekalb, Illinois; Lois (Don) Hennig of Hamshire, Illinois;
Sisters-In-Law: Emogene Christensen of Plato Center, Illinois; Anne Christensen of Elgin, Illinois; Judy Christensen of Freeport, Illinois; Many Nieces and Nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Kathryn Grace Christensen-Baker; two brothers: Raymond and Kenneth and his twin brother: Delbert Christensen.

He was raised and educated in Plato Center, Illinois.

He served in the United States Marine Corp from January 1952 until January 1954.

He received the National Defense Service Ribbon.

He was a grain dealer in Plato Center, Pearl City and Dakota, Illinois.

He was a member of the Soangetaha Country Club in Galesburg, Illinois.

After his retirement, he sold real estate and was an avid golfer.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 14, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois.

Inurnment will be held at a later date.

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
