Brouilette, F. Ruth
Mrs. F. Ruth Brouilette, 89, formerly of 673 Clark St., Galesburg, Ill., died at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, June 13, 2010 in Rosewood Care Center, East Peoria.

Ruth was born on March 23, 1921 in Galesburg to Jeppie Lawrence and Ann F. Leafgreen Harris. She married Orice E. "Bud" Brouillette in Canton, Ill. on March 1, 1938. He preceded her in death on June 7, 1995.

Ruth is survived by a son, David Ray (and Mary) Brouillette of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Julie Ann (and Terry) Parlier of East Peoria, a sister, Naomi (and Berendt) Nordhielm of Hiawassee, Ga. and five grandchildren, Tony and Steffie Brouillette, Brock, Ty, and Tara Terpening. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and all the generations of Leafgreen cousins. A brother, Jeppie L. Harris, Jr., and a grandson, David Christian Brouillette preceded her in death.

She was the co-owner of Brouillette's Decorative Studio in Galesburg for 35 years, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She was also a charter member of the Galanois Chapter of the American Business Women's Association. She and Bud collected antique cars and belonged to several antique car clubs in Galesburg, Peoria, and the National Packard Club.

Ruth enjoyed bowling, bunco, and bingo. She looked forward to the monthly potlucks with her G.H.S. classmates. Ruth loved to bake all the favorites of her children and grandchildren. She always had cookies for the mailman and anyone who would stop by to visit. Ruth loved to send cards and her Hallmark record books were filled with birthdays and anniversaries. Even though she was a professional woman, her family came first. She was a wonderful and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She put everyone's needs ahead of her own. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Rosewood who cared for her and to Methodist Hospice for all their support in the last months.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel with Rev. Gina Sheridan officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, Galesburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Methodist Hospice or the Ruth Brouillette Memorial Fund set up at Fondulac Banking Center in East Peoria. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
