|Annetta J. Campbell, 60, of Rock Island, Ill., formerly of Galesburg, Ill. died at 9:00 a.m. Saturday June 12, 2010 at Trinity West Hospital, Rock Island.
She was born September 9, 1949 in Fortsmith, Ark. to Hobart and Mary Roberts Steward. She married Talbert McClendon, Sr.
Surviving are five sons, Talbert L. McClendon, Tyran McClendon, Demone McClendon, Shawn McClendon and Jermaine Walker, all of Galesburg, three brothers, Michael (and Mattie) Steward of Galesburg, David Steward of Portland, Ore. and Richard Steward of San Francisco, Calif., two sisters, Mamie Graham of Greenville, Texas and Margaret Ann Bryant of New York, N.Y. 14 grandchildren including a special granddaughter, Talisa McClendon, a great grandchild, a special friend, Debra Harvey and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death her parents, a son, Montel McClendon and two brothers, James Steward and Mamon Steward
Annetta graduated from Central High School in Fortsmith, Ark. in 1967 and AM&N. College in Pine Bluff, Ark. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 30 years in Galesburg and Bloomington, Ill. She was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed family cookouts and spending time with her grandchildren.
There will be no funeral service. Visitation will be 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Cremation will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
