|Lillian "Jean" Morrissey, 86, formerly of Galesburg, Ill., died Saturday June 19, 2010 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Jean was born May 2, 1924, in Henderson, Ill., the daughter of Reuben and Nora May (Folger) Fields. She married W. C. "Bill" Morrissey March 13, 1943 in Gulfport, Miss. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1993.
Jean was a member of the United Methodist Church. Throughout her life she loved to play the piano and organ. She gave her family great joy with her music.
She graduated from Galesburg High School and had been a switchboard operator at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Mandoline and son-in-law, Jim Mandoline of Mt. Zion, Ill., sisters, June Puckett of Galesburg and Mabel Blixt, Des Moines, Iowa, grandchildren, Joy Snow, Rob Mandoline, Christy Millen and Cari Cook, 11 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband, daughter, Carolyn Cook, seven sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Bill Pyatt will officiate. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg.
