Dixon, Kenneth R. "Kenny"
Kenneth R. "Kenny" Dixon age 63 of 144 Willard Wataga, Il. died at 7:05 PM Friday June 18, 2010 at St. Marys Health Care Center Jefferson City, Mo.

He was born May 7, 1947 in Galesburg, Il. the son of Arthur and Maxine J. Howard Dixon. He married Carol I. Roberts on February 17, 1979 in Peoria, Il.

Kenny is survived by his wife, his mother Maxine Windish of Moline, Il., two sons Joel Dixon of East Galesburg, Robbie and Rachael Dixon of New York, five daughters Michele Dixon of Lakeland Fl., Maudie Irene Pullins of Wataga, Il., Kimberly Bison of Tempe, Az., Angela and Jack Angelo, and Mary Howard both of Galesburg, one brother Robert and Lois Dixon of Moline, Il., seventeen grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughters Tracy and a son Kenny, a sister Marilyn Robinson, father-in-law George Roberts, his father and grandparents.

He attended Knoxville Schools and served in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1968 aboard the USS Duval County and the USS Mahnamen County. He also served two terms in the Vietnam Conflict.

Kenny was a truck driver for PTL in Kentucky, Daily Express in Pennsylvania, White's Trucking and Mid America Express both in Knoxville for 17 years and the past three years for DCM Transport in Galesburg. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and AMVETS.

Graveside services will be 2 PM Thursday June 24, 2010 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with military services conducted by the American Legion Post #285 Color Guard. Visitation will be from noon-1:30 PM at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.
