Dunn, Mark Edward
Mark Edward Dunn, 55, Galesburg, died at 1 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 in Marigold Health Care Center.

He was born September 12, 1954 in Galesburg, the son of William E. and Martha Tracy Dunn.

He is survived by his mother of Galesburg, his sister, Diane (and Greg) Raymond of Wataga, his fiancée, Nancy Thorson of Kewanee, three nieces, Rebecca (and Jason) Lydic, Melody Raymond, and Harmony Raymond, and a nephew, Glen Raymond, all of Galesburg. Also surviving are his two sons (cats), Toby and Bandit. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Vernon Lee Dunn.

Mark graduated from Galesburg High School in 1972. He worked at Butler Manufacturing before attending Hamilton Technical Institute in Davenport, Iowa where he received his degree in electronics. Upon graduating he began working in the family business, Dunn and Julien Television, where he honed his skills and continued there until 2002 when his mother sold the business and retired. Mark's electronic knowledge and expertise were so much in demand that he continued to serve the community and ran Dunn's T.V. out of his home up until he became ill.

Mark always had a passion for music and in his younger years played keyboards in the local bands Inside Out and Deszeray. He also loved fishing on Lake of the Woods in Canada where he spent many happy weeks every summer. He enjoyed tennis and played often, usually with his fiance, Nancy.

Cremation will be accorded. Memorial visitation will be 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. A prayer service will follow at 11 a.m. led by Rev. David Parker. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or AA Serenity Club of Galesburg. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
