|James A. Risner, age 54, of Victoria, Illinois, died on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 9:50 A.M. at his residence. He was born on July 9, 1955 in Blue Island, Illinois, the son of Asa J. "Ace" and Pearl L. Hornbeck Risner.
Surviving are two sisters, Cathy (Steve) Shover of Victoria, Illinois and Nancy (Brad) Miller of Lowell, Indiana; several nieces and nephews, Shelly (Todd) Washburn of Victoria, Illinois, Ace Gaszak of Florida, Angel (Gregg) Schwartz of Indiana, Connie (Gordan) Gulley of Manteno, Illinois, Noble Risner of North Carolina, Stacy Consuego of Florida, Amber and Chris Varner and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Ronald and Robert and one sister: Judith Risner.
He was raised and educated in Palos West and Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, Illinois. He attended Moraine Valley Junior College in Palos Park, Illinois. He was manager and chef of various restaurants in Oak Run, Knoxville, Victoria, Galesburg and Peoria, Illinois, including Seminary Pub, Victoria Cafe, Fiesta Cantina, Fazollio and Nowhere Bar and Grill. He worked at Radio Shack and Verizon Wireless. He was of the Lutheran faith.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 2, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hurd Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. Tim Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois. Burial in Knoxville Cemetery in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Family.
