Schoenbein, Lyle E.
Lyle E. Schoenbein, 42, of 376 N. Broad St., Galesburg, IL, passed away at his home surrounded by his family at 2:02 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2011 after fighting a courageous 15 month battle with cancer.

He was born December 7, 1968 in Davenport, Iowa to Ernest R. and Sharon K. Poole Schoenbein. He married Stacy Jackson August 10, 1996 in Alexis, Ill.

He is survived by his mother, Sharon Schoenbein of Galesburg and his father, Ernest R. Schoenbein of Burlington, Iowa; his girl friend, Joni Clay of Galesburg; three sons, Bradley Schoebein of Galesburg, Kyle and Kaleb Schoenbein, both of Alexis, Ill.; a brother, Joe (and Michelle) Schoenbein of Burlington; three nieces, a nephew and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harold and Marion Poole and his paternal grandparents, Ernest and Hazel Schoenbein.

He was a machine operator for John Deere Harvester, Moline, Ill. for two years. He previously worked as a service advisor for Galesburg Lincoln Mercury and Bob Lindsay Toyota-Honda in Galesburg. Lyle graduated from Galesburg High School in 1987 and attended Hamilton Technical College. He lived in Alexis for 15 years before moving back to Galesburg. Lyle loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed coaching his sons in baseball, basketball and football. He loved all sports including NASCAR racing and his favorite driver being Tony Stewart.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Mark and Debbie Dexter will officiate. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the chapel. Burial will be in Alexis Cemetery, Alexis Ill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for an education fund for his children. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
