|Byron E. "Barney" Colton, 73, of Woodhull, IL, died Friday June 10, 2011 in his home. Cremation has been accorded and Services are 11:00 AM Tuesday at Bethany Lutheran Church in Woodhull. Private Burial will be at a later date. Visitation is from 5-7 PM Monday at Peterson Wallin Knox Funeral Home in Woodhull where memorials may be left to Tri-County Ambulance or Woodhull Cemetery Assoc. He was born November 25, 1937 in Delphos, KS to Victor and Florence Bellows Colton. He graduated from Miltonvale, KS. High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962. On December 24, 1983 he married Marcia Kroemer Inks in Bella Vista, AR.
Barney was employed at Bergstrom Seed and Grain Company in Woodhull for many years and owned and operated Barney's Welding in Woodhull for over 20 years. He enjoyed fabricating Steel and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Marcia, a daughter Connie Herring of Kewanee, IL, 2 sons Kelly Colton of Mulberry, FL, Roger (Tara) Colton of Ray City, GA, 2 stepchildren, Wendy (T.J. Johnson) Goben of New Windsor, IL, Jeff Inks of Canyon Lake, TX, 9 grandchildren , 1 great grandson, 4 sisters , Margaret Louthan and Doris Turner both of Salina, KS, Althea Pellant of Russell, KS , Bernita Lippe of Queens Creek, AZ, Special friends Lance and Rabecka Jones and their children Madalynn, Brooklynn and Katlynn of Woodhull, Cathy Morrison of North Henderson, IL. and many nieces and nephews.
His parents, a daughter Melissa, 1 sister and 5 brothers preceded him in death.
