|Daniel Lee Howard age 76 of 476 N. Pleasant Ave. Galesburg, Il. died Friday June 3, 2011 at 3:12AM at his home.
He was born February 1, 1935 in Monmouth, Il. the son of Fred and Florence Taylor Howard. He married Susie Glasnovich on June 25, 1955 in Galesburg, Il.
Dan is survived by his wife, two sons Mike and Kelly Howard of Galesburg and Rick Howard of Nashville, Tn., four daughters Lori and Joe Deets of Galesburg, Linda and Steve Boone of Dunlap, Il., Lisa Howard of Knoxville, Il., and Kathy and Van Shipley of Galesburg., one step sister Frances Asquith of Florida, six grandchildren Jeremy and Camille Howard, Jake Shipley, Andy Boone, Danika Boone, Sami Rose, and Sumer Rose, and two great grandchildren Elizabeth Howard and Mackenzie Howard.
He was preceded in death by his father, his mother and step father Marshall Ray.
He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1953 and attended Western Illinois University. He was the purchasing agent for Butler Manufacturing for 42 years retiring in February 1998. After retirement he worked part time at Bunker Links Golf Course in Galesburg. He was a devoted husband and father. His greatest pleasures in life were spending time with family and his friends at Bunker Links. In 2004 he was inducted into the Galesburg High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Funeral services will be 10 AM Monday June 6, 2011 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel with Rev. Deus-dedit Byabato officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM Sunday at the chapel. Private burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Institute of Charity for Father Deus-Byabato Project. Online condolences maybe made at www.h-p-w.com.
