|Mary E. (George) Holt, age 65 of Muscatine, Iowa and formerly of Abingdon, died at 5:30 pm Saturday, June 2, 2012 in Houston, Texas.
She was born on June 25, 1946 in Galesburg, the daughter of Lester and Gladys (Landon) George. She married Ron Holt on May 29, 2010 in Muscatine, Iowa.
Mary is survived by her husband, Ron; two daughters, Marcy (and Steve) Fawer of Galesburg and Tammy (and Ronald) Canini of Columbus, Ohio; one son, Jack (and Teresa) Trowbridge of Fort Myers, Florida; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Williamson of Abingdon; two brothers, Jack (and Joan) Lund of San Antonio, Texas and Mike George of Galesburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Barb DeJaynes.
She grew up in Abingdon and London Mills and had lived her adult life in Galesburg until moving back to Abingdon in 2007. She had lived in Muscatine, Iowa since her marriage. She had worked as the Beauty Advisor at the Walgreen Drug Store at Fremont and Henderson Streets in Galesburg and at Pizza Hut. Her hobbies included her love of motor cycles, the computer, crocheting and going to the riverboats.
Cremation was accorded. Celebration of life service will be held at the Blue Bell Tower, 300 N. Jefferson St. in Abingdon Illinois, at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 16, 2012. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with local announcements.
