|Ruby J. Goff Simpson, age 85, of Knoxville, Illinois died on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 10:30 P.M. at the Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, Illinois.
She was born on May 22, 1926 in Persifer Township, Knox, County, Illinois, and the daughter of William M. and Ethel C. Gibbs Howard. She attended Williamsfield High School. She married Robert "Bunk" Goff in February of 1944 in Knoxville, Illinois, and then later married Tom Simpson.
Surviving is a daughter: Christine (Rogers) Lofgren of Dahinda, Illinois. One son: Steve (Beverly) Goff of Abingdon, Illinois. Three stepchildren: Tom Simpson, Chris Simpson, and Jay Simpson. Four Grandchildren and Five Great-Grandchildren. Step Grandchildren and Step Great Grandchildren. Her parents, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and she worked at the former Gale Products as an assembler in Galesburg, Illinois for 22 years. She was an active member of the Dahinda United Methodist Church in Dahinda, Illinois serving as a Sunday School Teacher and in the Women's Club. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, flowers and playing cards.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Trenton Cemetery in Rural Dahinda, Illinois. Rev. Jennifer Seder Officiating. There will be no visitation.
