Stickle, Dale E.
Dale E. Stickle, 62, of Wataga, Ill., died at 12 noon Saturday, June 2, 2012 in Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus in Silvis, Ill.

He was born April 2, 1950 in Hollywood, Calif. the son of William "Ed" and Irene Scholl Stickle. He married Diane Olson. He later married Karen S. Currier Sturtevant on September 5, 1998 in Wataga.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; a daughter, Amy (and Ryan) Ruhl of Galva, Ill.; step son, Tony (and fiancée Amber) Sturtevant of Rock Island, Ill.; step daughter, Tami VanDaele of Kewanee, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, Michael, Erika, Collin, Dane, Anthony, A.J., Aleah, Calvin, Carter, and Chloe; a great granddaughter, Finlee; two brothers, Bryan (and Jackie) Stickle of Colona, Ill. and Kurt (and Helene) Stickle of Galesburg, Ill.; a sister-in-law, Nancy Reynolds of North Dakota; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Danny Reynolds.

Dale worked for John Deere Harvester for 29 years, retiring February 28, 2011. He was also a volunteer fireman in Wataga. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1968 and had lived in the Wataga area most of his life.

Dale was a member of the Wataga Congregational Church and the Wataga Lions Club. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, woodworking, camping, boating, and being outside.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Rev. Gregory Ellcey officiating and military rites by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post 285. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Wataga Volunteer Fire Department. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
