|Dale K. Rucker, 63, 214 N. Arthur Ave., Galesburg, died at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born April 14, 1947 in Galesburg, the son of Kenneth and Betty West Rucker. He married Connie S. White on November 1, 1969 in Galesburg.
He is survived by his wife Connie, two daughters, Shelley (and Rob) Burn of Peoria, and Stacey Rucker of Galesburg, a granddaughter, Lauren Burn, his mother, Betty Rucker of Gilson, mother-in-law, Vera White of Knoxville, and two sisters, Kay Rucker of Gilson and Joan McClanahan of Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his father and father-in-law, L. Clark White.
Dale worked for the Galesburg Sanitary District for 40 years, retiring in May 2010. He also worked for George and Jim Inness Farms for 28 years. Dale was very dedicated to his work and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter.
Dale graduated from Yates City High School in 1965. He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 in Germany. He attended First Presbyterian Church.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 16, 2010 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Phyllis Sterr will officiate. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
