Mae Otilia Luxmore, 96, Galesburg, died at 12:17 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
Mae was born May 2, 1914, in Westfield Iowa, the daughter of Carl John Luther and Olive Mae Clark Rosene. She married Ora Earl Luxmore on November 6, 1932 in Aledo, Illinois. He preceded her in 2003. She is survived by three daughters, Virginia (John) Haun of Galesburg, Delores (Philip) Corbin of New Port Richey, Florida, and Betty Dowd of Aledo; son-in-law, Dr. Byron Hawbecker; two sisters, Irene Sollemburger of Kewanee and Dorothy Reed of Seattle, Washington; 12 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, a daughter, Anita Mae Hawbecker, son-in-law, Robert M. Dowd, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
Mae was a homemaker, member of Bethel Baptist Church and a member of the Gideon's Auxiliary.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010 at East Linwood Cemetery with Dr. Byron Hawbecker officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Watson Funeral Home.
