Ruth E. Griffith, 88, 184 Knox Rd 2000N, Galesburg, died at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday July 21, 2010 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born July 2, 1922 in Galesburg the daughter of Charles and Cecil Lowery Hunt. She married Donald L. Griffith on November 27, 1942 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1995.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Lee (Filone) Griffith of Leesburg, Fla. and Jeff Griffith of Galesburg; a daughter, Elizabeth Burnham of East Galesburg; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
She was a homemaker. She graduated from Galesburg High School and was a member of the First Christian Church.
Graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. David Parker will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com. |
