Wilson, Miriam J.
Miriam J. "Mimi" Wilson, 91, of 550 E. Carl Sandburg Dr. Galesburg died at 9:35 pm Friday, July 8, 2011 in Seminary Manor.
She was born December 10, 1919 in Keokuk, Iowa the daughter of Grover Cleveland and Natalie Weil Harness. She married John H. Wilson on September 29, 1944 in Keokuk, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 14, 2001.

She is survived by her son, J. Mark (and Marsha) Wilson of Galesburg; a brother, Jack (and Helen) Harness of Keokuk; two grandchildren, Desirée Friborg Wilson of St. Paul, Minn. and Kristen (and Travis) Lipsman of Richmond, Texas and great grandchildren, Parker John Lipsman and Madison Grace Lipsman due September 2011. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, J. Hiram Wilson on November 26, 1989, a brother Robert Harness and a sister Maxine Fallon.

Mimi was a homemaker and worked part-time as Financial Secretary at the First Presbyterian Church for over 20 years. She graduated Valedictorian from Keokuk High school in 1937. She has lived in Ames, Grinnell, Perry, and Muscatine Iowa before moving to Galesburg 1958. She was a member of PEO, and Clio Club. She enjoyed reading, swimming, and playing bridge. Mimi was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and was involved in many activities including Tuesday Morning Ladies Sewing Group.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in Oakland Cemetery in Keokuk. Rev. David Parker will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm Monday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
