|Thomas Wayne Tabb, 50, of 1377 Lindsay Lane, Galesburg and formerly of Abingdon, died at 10:43 pm Monday July 11, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on July 1, 1961 in Galesburg, the son of Charles Wayne and Joan (Fielder) Tabb. He married Elizabeth "Beth" Kohl Kilgore on September 8, 1995 in Galesburg. She survives.
Tom is also survived by his father, Charles Wayne (and Dottie Weathers) Tabb of Galesburg, his mother, Joan Tabb of Abingdon; his children, Neili (and Tyson) Stegall of Peoria, Nichole (and Michael) Pohlman of Altona and Nolan (and Pam Bess) of Bettendorf, Iowa; his grandchildren, Lexi Stegall, Micah Stegall, Brooklynne Tabb, Sophie Pohlman and Ethan Pohlman; his step-daughter, April (and Marc) Kilgore Zehr of Phoenix, Arizona; his siblings, Beverly Nicholas of Iowa City, Iowa, Deb (and Mike "Rooster" Fox) Raes of Abingdon and Terry (and Lisa) Tabb of Washington, Illinois.
He graduated from Abingdon High School in 1979. He later attended Carl Sandburg College. He worked as the maintenance supervisor for Bridgeway Inc. and had also worked at Naeir and Bixby Zimmer. He was a member of The Galesburg Bassmasters Club. He enjoyed fishing, racing motorcycles and especially loved his grandkids.
Cremation was accorded. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel followed by the continuation of celebrating Tom's life at the Abingdon American Legion until 9:00 pm.
