Breed, Emmy Lou
Emmy Lou Breed, 94, of Monmouth died at 3:15 P.M. Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Courtyard Estates, Monmouth.

She was born Nov. 10, 1916 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Eugene and Lillian (Stoecks) Nussle. She was raised and educated in Monmouth and attended Monmouth College.

Emmy Lou married Mac C. Breed on May 14, 1942 at Pensacola, FL and he preceded her in death on December 5, 2007.

During her working years Emmy worked as an accountant/bookkeeper at Bersted Hobbycraft and Western Stoneware Co. She was a lifelong member of the Monmouth Country Club and was a golfer and bridge player. She was a member of OGM and AKQ (ladies bridge clubs). She had bowled in various leagues. Emmy and her husband, Mac, spent their winters in Naples, FL for over 25 years. They enjoyed golf, boating and going on cruises. Her wonderful smile and warmth will be greatly missed.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Monmouth.

Her family includes her son Chuck Breed of Minneapolis, MN; two daughters, Bonnie (Larry) Millage of Bettendorf, IA and Cathy (Larry) Long of LeClaire, IA; granddaughter, Shelly Munden of Overland Park KS; great granddaughters, Sarah and Samantha Munden of Overland Park, KS; grandson, Scott Powell of Marion, IA, nephew, Norman Nussle of Los Angles, CA and niece, Nancy Nussle of Fullerton, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Frank Nussle and nephew, Greg Nussle.

Cremation has been accorded. A memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 20, 2011 at Hoover-hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Rev. Suzanne Geer officiating. Private burial will be in Monmouth Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday morning at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, where her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be given to Strom Center.
