Dorothy I. Smith, 82, of Knoxville, IL., passed away at 6:10 am Tuesday June 28, 2011 at Cottage Hospital In Galesburg, IL.
She was born Nov. 13, 1928 in Ellisville, Illinois to Francis Pitt and Lucille King Lockwood; she married Floyd Joseph Smith on July 26, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1966.
She was also preceded in death by 2 sons; Floyd Euene Smith and Dennis Smith and 1 infant daughter Barbara Smith; 2 brothers; Francis and Dale Lockwood and 3 sisters; Alice Howard, Virginia Garrett, and Juanita Dilts.
She is survived by 2 daughters; Linda Kniss, and Sandra (Donald) Brittingham both of Galesburg, IL; 2 sons; Gary L. (Patricia) Smith of Galesburg, IL, James E. (Ruth) Smith of Knoxville, IL; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 11AM Friday July 1, 2011 at Avon Cemetery in Avon IL. Visitation will be from 10-10:45 am Friday at the Corman Memorial Home in Avon. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family. Please sign guestbook or leave condolences at www.cormanmh.com |
