Icenogle, Rev. Delbert W.
Rev. Delbert W. Icenogle, 84, of Monmouth died at 12:30 A.M. Wed. June 29, 2011 at the Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth IL.

He was born December 4, 1926 in Monmouth Illinois the son of Fred and Reha (Lovitt) Icenogle. He was reared and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1944, Monmouth College in 1947 and Pittsburgh-Xenia Theological Seminary, Pittsburgh, PA in 1951.

Delbert married Anna L. Patterson in Alexis, Illinois on September 2, 1961 and she survives.

Delbert was a Presbyterian Pastor for 42 years, retiring in 1992 and has continued to fill pulpits almost every Sunday since then. He served the Alexis United Presbyterian Church in Alexis from 1948-1959; Westminster Presbyterian Church, Burlington, IA from 1960-1965; Fulton Presbyterian Church in Fulton, IL from 1965-1969; First Presbyterian Church in Shelbyville, IL from 1969-1976 and Community Presbyterian Church in Sherrard, IL from 1976-1992. He served as Interim Pastor for Heritage United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth from Feb. 1993 to August 1994.

He was a member of the Great Rivers Presbytery, Presbyterian Church, USA; associated with Heritage United Presbyterian Church of Monmouth; member of Heritage Promise Keepers; member of Monmouth Evening Lions Club where he served as Secretary-Treasurer.

Surviving is his wife, Anna Icenogle of Monmouth; one daughter, Kay (David) Stropes of Monmouth; granddaughter, Mary (Byron) Hasting of Monmouth; great grandson, D.J. Hasting of Monmouth and several nieces and nephews and two sisters-in-laws, Dolly Icenogle of Gerlaw and Jeanne Patterson of Monmouth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Richard Icenogle, L. Dale Icenogle and Norman Icenogle; sister, Shirley Tansey.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Heritage United Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Irwin and Pastor Lester Zook of the Living Life Tabernacle of Roseville and Phil Cooper officiating. Friends may call on Friday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, where his family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Heritage United Presbyterian Church or the Heritage Promise Keepers. Online condolences may be left at hooverhall.com.
