|Roma R. Most, 92, of Galesburg, died at 9:50 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2012 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born February 24, 1920 in Chicago, the daughter of Chester Charles and Sarah Kay Neahring Jassey. She married Glenn F. Most in 1939.
She is survived by a son, John A. (and Kathryn) Most of Chandler, Ariz.; a step-daughter, Judith Most Armstrong of Clovis, Calif.; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann Most in 2005 and two grandsons.
Roma graduated from York High School in Elmhurst, Ill. in 1936 and from Gregg Business College in Chicago. After moving to Galesburg in 1950, she worked as a secretary at Gale Products, First National Bank, and then for Gunther Construction Company for 23 years.
Roma had been a member of Central Congregational Church, the Professional Secretaries Association, Republican Women, Knox County Humane Society, Sweet Adenlines, and Red Hat Society. She had volunteered as a Pink Lady at Galesburg Research Hospital, in the gift shop at Galesburg Cottage Hospital, as an usher at the Orpheum Theater, an income tax aide at the V.N.A., and a host mother for Knox College international students. She was concerned with the welfare of dogs and cats and enjoyed world travel.
Roma was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed. Now she will be with her daughter, Carol.
Cremation will be accorded. Private family memorial service will be held at a later date in Chandler, Ariz. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Humane Society.
