Carl J. Werner, 32, of Monmouth died at 3:45 P.M. Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at his home.
He was born Feb. 7, 1980 in Long Beach CA. the son of Louis Carl and Tammy Jo (Cook) Werner. He was raised and educated in California, Monmouth and Macomb. He attended Monmouth High School and received his Associate Arts degree in chemical Dependency Counseling from Southeastern Community College in Burlington.
Carl married Melanie Wilkerson in New London, IA. on Feb. 2, 2008.
Carl had worked as a youth counselor at the Christamore Residential Treatment Center in Mt. Pleasant, IA.
Survivors include his mother, Tammy (James) Reynolds of Lakewood, WA; father, Louis Carl Werner of New York; Maternal grandmother, Sandra Cook of East Peoria, IL; paternal grandparents, Carl & Margaret Werner of Hauppauge, NY; step maternal grandmother, Carol (Ron) Stombaugh of Monmouth; uncles, Tyler (Stephanie) Cook of Burlington, IA. and Brian Werner of Hauppauge, NY; cousins.
His grandfather, Jack Cook and paternal aunt, Debbie (Werner) Weirzbicki preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Rev. James Epperson of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday morning at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where his family will be present one hour prior to the services. A memorial fund has been established to be designated later.
