|Robert Dale Swanson, 63, of Galesburg, died at 12:20 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
He was born April 26, 1950 in Galesburg the son of F. Russell and Helen E. Guenther Swanson. He married Ann Louise Harris August 26, 1972 in Galesburg.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Ann Swanson of Galesburg; a son, Sean (and Sue) Swanson of Yuma, Ariz.; two daughters, Jacqueline Arthur of Avon, Ill. and Natalie (and Gary) Scicluna of Shelby Township, Mich.; four grandchildren, Elisa, Jeffrey, Zachary, and Dylan; a brother, William (and Jayne) Swanson of Belfast, N.Y.; a sister, Susan (and Tim) Wetzel of Battle Creek, Mich.; and his cat, Joey. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob worked at First National Bank, Gale Products Division of Outboard Marine Corporation, Soangetaha County Club, HyVee, and most recently at County Elms Estates in maintenance. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1968 and Brown's Business College in Kansas City. He was a member of East Main Congregational United Church of Christ, where he served as organist. Bob was a member of the Galesburg Historical Society and was active with the Chocolate Fest.
Bob was an avid Chicago Bears fan and Indy 500 fan.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2013 at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Robin Faull will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
