|William "Bill" W. Lucas, 84, of Alexis, died 3:45 A.M. Sunday, August 08, 2010 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
He was born July 16, 1926 in rural Alexis, IL the son of Frank and Lottie (Firebaugh) Lucas. He was raised and educated in Alexis.
Bill married Norma Jean Vance at the Coldbrook Christian Church on July 6, 1946 and she survives.
Bill was a welder and later worked at the foundry at International Harvester in Rock Island for 32 years before his retirement. He loved to go Bass fishing and listening to music.
He was a member of the North Henderson United Methodist Church. He was also a former member of the Alexis Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Larry Lucas of Kenosha, WI; one grandson, Aaron Lucas of Arlington Heights, IL several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis. Burial will be in Alexis Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Alexis where his family will be present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to the North Henderson United Methodist Church.
