|Shirley Irene O'Connell Fedorow, age 91, of Galesburg, Illinois, died on Monday, August 9, 2010 at 6:39 P.M. at Seminary Manor Nursing Home in Galesburg, Illinois.
She was born on August 18, 1918 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She married George Fedorow on June 20, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Her beloved husband preceded her in death on November 26, 1984. She is survived by her two sons, Charles (Diane) Fedorow of Cameron, Illinois and George (Marilyn) Fedorow of Anaheim Hills, California; three grandchildren, Jason, Nicole and Shawn Fedorow; three stepsisters, Marilyn Ohlenrath, Carol Murray and Barbara Lindstrom and several nieces and nephews.
She received her degree from the Art Institute in Chicago in 1973 and was a founding member of the woman's art gallery, Artemisia. Among her accomplishments was the stain glass window she designed for St. John's Episcopal Church in Chicago. She lived most of her life in Chicago and Glen Ellyn. She moved to Seminary Estates in 2008.
Cremation Rites will be accorded.
Graveside Memorial Services will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in River Grove, Illinois at a later date. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, Byron & Kostner Avenue, 3857 N. Kostner, Chicago, IL 60641 or the Art Institute of Chicago. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois in charge of arrangements.
