Eugene I. Grubaugh, 57, 121 W. Simmons St., Galesburg, died at 4:45 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2010 at home.
He was born August 10, 1953 in Galesburg, the son of Wayne and Eloise Lane Grubaugh.
He is survived by three daughters, Tracey (and Kevin) Baughman of Morton, Ill., Kimberly (and Andy) Weedman of Victoria, Ill., and Erika (and Steve Haley) Grubaugh of Waynesville, Mo., three grandchildren, Baylea Weedman, Makenna Baughman, and Denver Weedman, a brother, Wayne (and Kaye) Grubaugh of Gastonia N.C., a sister, Wavia Grubaugh of Aurora, Colo., and a niece, Keily Grubaugh of Gastonia, N.C. He was preceded in death by his parents. Eugene had lived in Galesburg his whole life and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1971 and earned two associates degrees from Carl Sandburg College in 1975 and 1996. He worked for Iowa Malleable for 25 years. Eugene was active in several bowling leagues at Northgate Lanes, where he bowled a perfect 300 game. He was an avid Chicago sports fan.
Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2010 in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Rev. Sarah Wanck will officiate. Visitation will be 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.
