Hanson, Alberta M.
Alberta "Maggie" M. Hanson, age 74, of Knoxville, Illinois, died at 3:10 A.M. on Friday, August 20, 2010 at Galesburg Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born on January 11, 1936 in Bushnell, Illinois, the daughter of Andrew Ray and Bertha Faler Day. She married Leanelle Husky" Hanson on February 28, 2004 in Knoxville, Illinois. He survives of Knoxville, Illinois.

One Daughter: David "Briona" Burgess of Peoria, Arizona

Four Sons: Michael (Aine) DeJaynes of Abingdon, Illinois
Keith (Dixie) DeJaynes of Burlington, Iowa
Steve (Barbara) Burgess of Texas
Joe Burgess of Georgia

Two Stepsons: Cory (Andrea) Hanson of Knoxville, Illinois
Terry Lee Hanson of Ohio

Her Mother: Bertha Burgess of Abingdon, Illinois

Several Grandchildren and Several Great-Grandchildren

One Sister: Vonneda (Jack) Nickels of Bartonville, Illinois

Two Brothers: Joe Burgess of Abingdon, Illinois
Jim (Norma) Day of Galesburg, Illinois

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons, and four sisters: May Louise, Patricia Ann, Gloria Jean and Roberta Langford.

She worked for former Turnstyle of Galesburg, Illinois. She then worked for the K-Mart Corporation in the Moline, Berwyn, Chicago, and Galesburg, Illinois stores for 23 years. She retired from Grady's in Galesburg, Illinois where she prepared the salad bar.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Rev. David Shreeves officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 until time of service at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Burial in Abingdon Cemetery in Abingdon, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the American Cancer Society.
