|Mr. William A. Phillips, 71, 1252 Nelson Ave., Galesburg, Ill., died at 7:17 AM Wednesday, August 4, 2010 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
He was born on July 23, 1939 in Galesburg to Edwin and Mabel L. Cunningham Phillips. He married Cheryl E. Potter on August 19, 1961 in Carthage, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Troy Phillips of Galesburg and Todd William (Jodi) Phillips of Benton, LA; a daughter, Tami Hottell of Monmouth, Ill.; a sister, Joan Boynton of Galesburg; one grandson, six granddaughters and a great granddaughter.
Bill worked at Dohrn and Hall Trucking for 16 years, then at Protexall, Inc. and then later at Carhartt, Inc. for 10 years. A 1957 graduate of Galesburg High School, he attended First Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking and stain glass lamps. He loved his family.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Friday, August 6, 2010 at the First Lutheran Church with Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the Parrish Hall. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
