|Patrick J. McCleary, 84 of Roseville, IL passed away Monday August 1, 2011, 1:02 am at the Roseville Rehab and Health Care Center Roseville, IL.
He was born May 28, 1927 in Galesburg, IL the son of Anthony and Teresa Hagan McCleary. He married Jean E. Phelps on February 10, 1962 in St. Augustine, IL; she preceded him on September 30, 1990. He is survived by one daughter Marsha McCleary of Roseville, IL; one son David "Tony" McCleary of Roseville, IL; two grandsons Evan McCleary of Roseville, IL and Patrick McCleary of Cincinnati, OH, and one granddaughter Jenifer McCleary of Cincinnati, OH; one brother Joseph McCleary of Monmouth, IL; two sisters Rosie McCleary of Monmouth, IL and Josephine Buckley of Monmouth, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 1 sister (Margaret Lee).
He was raised around Raritan, IL. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was Point Pleasant road commissioner for 18 years. He farmed and raised hogs for 65 years. He was a member of the St. Pats Catholic Church in Raritan, IL and a member of the Roseville American Legion Post #614. He was a Democratic Precinct Committeeman for 40 years for Point Pleasant Township.
Funeral service will be Thursday August 4, 2011, 10:00 Am at the Corman Memorial Home Roseville, IL. Family will receive friends on Wednesday eve from 5:00-7:00 pm at Cormans Roseville, IL with a rosary being at 4:30. Burial will be in the St. Pats Cemetery, Raritan, IL.
