Ruth E. Hillman, 91, 275 E. Carl Sandburg Dr. Galesburg, Ill died at 8:10 pm Wednesday, July 27, 2011 in Marigold Health Care Center.
She was born June 21, 1920 in Galesburg the daughter of Howard and Edna Page Lozier.
She is survived by a son, John Hillman of Santa Fe, NM.
Ruth worked as the book keeper for Builders Supply for 40 years, retiring in 1985. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1938 and has lived in Galesburg her entire life. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Ruth was the starting pitcher for the Galesburg Merchants Women's Softball throughout the fifties.
No services are scheduled and cremation was accorded. Private family burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com. |
