Frazier, Dona Jean
Dona Jean Frazier, 76, of Galesburg, IL, died at 11:26 P.M. Monday, August 1, 2011 at Cottage Hospital, Galesburg.

She was born May 24, 1935 in Monmouth, the daughter of William C. and Helen (Akers) Christensen. She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduated from Monmouth High School in 1954.

Dona married John E. Williams on May 15,1955 in Monmouth and he preceded her in death on June 18, 1987. She later married Maurice J. Frazier on April 1, 1989 in Monmouth and he survives.

Dona was a homemaker. She helped establish a training center for physically and mentally challenged children in Eaton, Ohio. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren, friends and life. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and reading. Dona was very active and passionate about Relay for Life.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monmouth.

Surviving are her Husband, Maurice, 4 daughters, Kimberly (Donald) Blair of Easton, MD, Jeri Barcroft of Galesburg, IL, Dorothy "Dottie" (Mitch) Ray of Monmouth and Jona (Joel) Perrin of Lindenwood, IL, 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; Step-children, Julie (Peter) Bernier of Verbera, AL, Janie (John) Hilton of Avon, IN; Jill (Jeff) Crichton of Alabama and Jeff (Jane) Frazier of Galesburg, IL, one sister, Martha (Frank) Galusha of Cherokee, IA and one sister in law, Carol Christensen of Rock Island, IL; along with nieces, nephews and special companion, Scardie the cat.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, John and one son, Howard; one brother, William "Chris" Christensen.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 5, 2011 at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth with Rev. Suzanne Geer officiating. Burial will be in Oquawka Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth where her family will be present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. A memorial fund has been established for the Warren Co. Special Olympics or the Knox Co. Relay for Life.
