McCrery, Dorothy M.
Dorothy M. McCrery, 91 , of Monmouth died at 1:05 A.M. Wed, August 3, 2011 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth.

She was born May 7, 1920 in Mt. Pleasant, IA the daughter of Earl W. and Mazie (Black) Lantz. She was raised and educated in the Monmouth area, attending Monmouth High School.

Dorothy married Neil McCrery on Sept. 16, 1937 in Monmouth and he died March 1, 1987.

Dorothy was a homemaker all her life and took great pride and joy in taking care of her family.

She was a member of the Heritage United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth where she served as an Elder and member of the Wednesday Quilting Group. She was a leader with the Spring Grove 4-H and served with the Monmouth Community Hospital Auxiliary. Dorothy was an avid Bridge player at the Strom Center in Monmouth.

Survivors include her 3 sons, David (Judy) McCrery of Abingdon, Dennis (Carol) McCrery of Monmouth and Doug (Liu Xin) McCrery of Monmouth; 8 grandchildren, David McCrery III, Robert McCrery, Mark McCrery, Dr. Lantz McCrery, Heidi Stein, Molly Bitar, Jia Feng and Claire McCrery; 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Pauline Winbigler of Monmouth; 3 brothers, CMDR Rex Lantz of Tucson, AZ, Charles Lantz of Rockford, IL and David Lantz of Monmouth; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter in law, Annette McCrery, one sister, Mary McMaster and two brothers, Donald Lantz and Robert Lantz.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Sat. August 6, 2011 at the Heritage United Presbyterian Church in Monmouth with Rev. John Irwin officiating. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park. Friends may call at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth on Friday, August 5, 2011 where her family will be present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to Heritage United Presbyterian Church or the Strom Center in Monmouth.
