|Donald L. Doubet of Monmouth, (Lake Warren) Illinois passed away Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 3:05 PM at the Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois at the age of 82 years.
He was born in Galesburg, Illinois at Cottage Hospital on October 17, 1929 the son of Albert Doubet and Parepa (Tompkins) Doubet.
He is survived by his wife Doris M. (Martin) Doubet. They were married on July 1, 1949. They were happily married for 63 years.
Also surviving are one son Charles "Chuck" (Wendy) Doubet of Trivoli, Illinois; two daughters, Donna (Tim) Williams of Braidwood, Illinois and Cynthia "Cindy" (Chuck) Kellstadt of Brimfield, Illinois, his wonderful dog Lilly Ann. Also 8 grandchildren; Nancy (Jon) Sebast of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Regena (Adam) Lessner of Joliet, Illinois, Gerri (Mike) Hamen of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Ricky (Jamie) Doubet of Peoria, Illinois, Katie (Kevin) Wells of Secor, Illinois, Brian Kellstadt of Oklahoma, Eric Kellstadt of Peoria, Illinois, and Kathy "Blondie" Kellstadt of Brimfield, Illinois, 4 great grandchildren and one soon to be here. Don is also survived by one sister; Barbara (Glen) Reed of Henderson, Illinois one brother Dorrance (Carol) Doubet of Maquon, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews, many neighbors and friends Clark and Pat Swank of Lake Warren, Illinois.
Don was preceded in death by his parents.
Don was a farmer for 25 years. He was the Salem township road commissioner for 16 years. He also worked at Heartland F.S., Rental Store and the Peoria stockyards. He was a member of the Douglas Methodist Church in Douglas, Illinois. He served on the Knox County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed his Day Lily's, Fishing at Lake Warren and playing cards, spending time with his family, especially with his grandkids and great grandkids. He was a true inspiration and touched all of their lives in a unique way. He will be dearly missed.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Maquon United Methodist Church in Maquon, Illinois. Rev. Paul Lydic and Rev. Sue Bryce will be officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, August 3, 2012 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home in Knoxville, Illinois. Interment will be held in the Yates City Cemetery, Yates City, Illinois. Memorial donations may be left to the Gerlaw Christian Church or to the Douglas United Methodist Church.
