|Lena Belle (Heck) Brewer passed away Aug. 12th at the age of 97. She was predeceased by her parents, Rae and Naomi (Olomon) Heck, three sisters, Jewell, Doris and Fern and her husband of 58 years, Arlo G. Brewer. There will be a Memorial Service at Memorial Hall at Maple Lawn in Eureka, IL at 10 AM Friday morning.
She is survived by 1 daughter, Sandra Brewer of Cary, IL, 2 grandchildren, Sean Toomey, IL and Koren (Toomey) Power of Chicago, 1 grandson-in-law, Seamus Power, 2 great grandchildren, Nora & Declan Power, her sister, Betty Van Fleet of Galesburg and many nieces and nephews.
She was an active member of the Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and youth groups, was a member of the church's official board, the choir, president of the Women's Society, the Wesleyan Service Guild and treasurer of Galesburg District's Women's Society.
She taught school in Warren County for 32 years, was president of the Warren County Teachers' Association, the Women's Education group,the Roseville P.T.A., and of Gamma Lambda Chapter of Delta Kappa International Society.
She was Past Matron of Eastern Stars, member of TTT chapter and president of the Roseville Woman's Club.
She worked for many community social groups including as Girl Scouts leader, March of Dimes, etc.
She especially loved children and older people.
Gravesise service 11:00 am Saturday August 18, 2012, at the Roseville Memorial Park, Roseville, IL. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital or Habitat for Humanity. Corman Memorial Home is is charge of the arrangements
