Johnson, Ruth Christine
Ruth Christine Johnson, age 85 of Galesburg, Il. died Wednesday August 22, 2012 at 3:25 AM at Seminary Manor.

She was born May 11, 1927 in Cambridge, Il. the daughter of Anton and Betty Bohman Ohlson. She married Lloyd E. Joneson on April 8, 1951 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death July 29, 1981.

Ruth is survived by three daughters Christine and Rick Wehrli of W. Peoria, Il., Sandy and Gary Neuleib of New Windsor, Il., and Janice and Dana Poole of Monmouth, Il., eight grandchildren Clifford and Theresa Wehrli, Amy and Tony Galletti, Holly and Shane OBrien, Melanie Neuleib, Madeline Poole,Emma Poole, Nicole Poole, and Melissa Poole, four great grandchildren Tyler Wehrli, Dustin Wehrli, Gracie Galletti, and Riley Galletti.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter Erin Neuleib in 2005.
She graduated from Galva High School in 1945 and Browns Business College in 1946. She was a homemaker and also a cashier at Churchill Jr. High School for the lunch program for over 20 years. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, the Christiana Guild and the Young at Hearts of the church. She was a member of the Galesburg Boots & Saddle Club, Vasa Lodge # 17, Lioness, Women of the Moose, and the Bunco Club. She loved spending time with her family, her horses, her pets, and enjoyed traveling.

Funeral service will be 11 AM Monday August 27, 2012 at the First Lutheran Church with Rev. Al Beck officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30-11 AM at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Disease Association.
